Pennsauken officer is state’s DWI ‘Top Gun’
A Pennsauken Township police officer has been named New Jersey's DWI Top Gun for 2012.
Officer Joseph Kuchmek, an eight-year veteran of the force, made 86 arrests for driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, officials said.
He was named the DWI Top Gun by the state Attorney General Office's Division of Highway Safety and will be honored at a ceremony in Trenton on April 24.
Pennsauken Police Chief John Coffey said his department's traffic division "regularly makes more DWI arrests than any other traffic division in South Jersey."
He said Kuchmek and three other officers - Ray Kern, Pete Fabiani and Jerry Henkel - made a total of 261 DWI arrests last year.
