DEPTFORD The Gloucester County Cultural and Heritage Commission has received grant funding of more than $50,000, the Gloucester County College organization announced in a news release.

The money from the New Jersey Council on the Arts and New Jersey Historical Commission will be used to support 21 organizations next year, roughly split so arts programs receive $43,300 and historical programs receive $7,330.

Those programs include an art and literature after-school initiative at the Woodbury Public Library, a series of mother-daughter art workshops at the Glassboro Child Development Center, and the West Deptford Public Library's "Art Meets Science . . . Spark a Reaction" exhibit.

Other groups that will receive a portion of the money include the Gloucester County Children's Choir, the Swedesboro-Woolwich Township Historical Committee, and the Washington Township Historical Preservation Committee. - Jonathan Lai
