SEWELL A Brooklyn, N.Y., man died Sunday during a skydiving jump in which he was wearing a specialized parachute known as a "wing suit," authorities said. It is not clear if the suit, which allows a skydiver to move forward while descending, opened properly, authorities said.

Rescue workers found Arkady Shenker, 49, behind a yard on Tuckahoe Road shortly after 2 p.m. after he had jumped from a plane that took off from Freefall Adventures at Cross Keys Airport, authorities said. Shenker was described as an experienced skydiver with 350 jumps and a frequent visitor to Freefall Adventures.

He died of his injuries about an hour later at Kennedy University Hospital-Washington Township, authorities said. The Federal Aviation Administration is being called in to investigate.
