Pedestrian fatally struck by car in Mount Laurel

Police are investigating after a pedestrian was fatally struck by a car in Mount Laurel.

Mount Laurel police said the man was in a northbound lane on South Church Street between Academy Drive and Saint David Drive when he was hit by a car that was northbound on Church Street about 5:25 p.m. Sunday/

Emergency responders tried to resuscitate the victim, but he was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. His name was not immediately released.

The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene of the accident.

Officials said the circumstances of the crash remain under investigation.
