A lockdown that was implemented at two Cherry Hill schools Tuesday afternoon as police searched for two residential burglary suspects in the vicinity has been lifted, officials said.
All outdoor activities were suspended and entrances and exits to the A. Russell Knight Elementary School and the Barclay Early Childhood Center were shut some time between 12:30 p.m. and 1 p.m., said Barbara Wilson, public information officer for Cherry Hill Public Schools. Wilson said police advised the lockdowns, which were lifted about 1:40 p.m.
Cherry Hill police spokeswoman Lt. Amy Winters said authorities located one burglary suspect. A second suspect was not apprehended.
