Two killed in A.C. Expressway crash

A man and woman were killed in a fiery vehicle crash Friday afternoon on the Atlantic City Expressway in Hamilton Township, state police said.

Shortly before 1:30 p.m., a Jeep Liberty was traveling west on the expressway when it veered out of control and struck a disabled BMW parked on the right shoulder.

The Jeep erupted in flames, but the two occupants were pulled from the vehicle and transported to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center's City Campus, where they were pronounced dead. They were identified as Sean McBride, 35, of Egg Harbor Township, who was driving, and Gabrielle Lynnes, 31, of Marmora. The operator of the BMW, Scott Lerario, 38, of Linwood, was outside his car checking the flat tire when he was injured during the accident.
