A kidnapping suspect on the New Jersey State Police's "most wanted" list since 2013 has been apprehended.

State Police said 32-year-old David Burroughs was taken into custody on Wednesday.

Authorities in Gloucester County had been looking for Burroughs, who was wanted after he failed to appear in court to face charges of kidnapping, aggravated assault and endangering the welfare of an injured victim, police said. Officials didn't describe the alleged incident further.

He was placed on the state's most wanted fugitive list in 2013. Police had described him as armed and dangerous, and said he had "violent tendencies."

State police said its fugitive unit, along with U.S. Marshals and other agencies, located Burroughs in Jersey City.

He was arrested without incident and was being held at the Hudson County Jail.
