Firefighters in Camden County battled a large blaze at an auto-repair shop Wednesday night for about two hours before declaring it under control, authorities said.

Firefighters in Camden County battled a large blaze at an auto-repair shop Wednesday night for about two hours before declaring it under control, authorities said.

The fire broke out around 6 p.m. as work was being done on a vehicle inside the Performance Plus shop, in the area of Haddonfield Road and New York Avenue in Pennsauken.

The fire rose briefly to four alarms before being dropped back down to three, said Pennsauken Fire Chief Joseph Palumbo. Twenty fire companies responded.

No injuries were reported. - Staff report
