A South Jersey man is accused of assaulting his seven-week-old daughter, leaving infant with significant bruises on her face.

The Gloucester County Prosecutor's Office said Tuesday that 21-year-old Sebastion Trump, of Paulsboro, was facing charges of endangering the welfare of a child and aggravated assault.

The girl was hospitalized Saturday at Cooper University Hospital with "substantial facial bruising," the prosecutor's office said.

Doctors at the medical center reported the injury to law enforcement.

Authorities said the child's mother wasn't home when she was hurt. The little girl remains at the hospital, under supervision of the state Division of Child Protection and Permanency, prosecutors said Tuesday.

Trump was being held at the Salem County jail on $50,000 bail.

Prosecutors didn't disclose further details about the alleged assault or say whether the motive was known.
