Second person charged with hindering police in killing of 8-year-old girl in Camden

A second woman has been charged with hindering the investigation of the homicide of 8-year-old Gabrielle Hill Carter, who was killed by a stray bullet in Camden last month.

A second woman has been charged with hindering the investigation of the homicide of 8-year-old Gabrielle Hill Carter, who was killed by a stray bullet in Camden last month.

Natasha Gerald, 19, of Sicklerville, was charged with providing a false alibi for a person of interest, authorities said Wednesday.

Gerald faces a maximum five years in prison if convicted.

Earlier this month, Shakia Land, 35, of Camden, also was charged with giving a false alibi for a person of interest.

Gabrielle was struck in the head by a bullet when gunfire erupted in the 900 block of South Eighth Street the night of Aug. 24. She died two days later.

The Citizens' Crime Commission is offering a $76,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of whoever is responsible.
