NJ state worker charged with child porn

A 64-year-old Camden County man was arrested Thursday on charges of possession of child pornography at his job as a New Jersey state employee, prosecutors said.

A 64-year-old Camden County man was arrested Thursday on charges of possession of child pornography at his job as a New Jersey state employee, prosecutors said.

Kevin Smith, who has been suspended from his job as an executive assistant in the state Department of Labor and Workforce Development, Division of Income Security, was arrested after investigators found more than 100 files of child porn on optical disks and a thumb drive found in his work cubicle, prosecutors said.

Smith, of Westmont, was charged with third-degree possession of 100 or more files of child pornography and faces a prison sentence of three to five years in prison if convicted.
