A fire injured seven people early Monday in Woodbury, and high winds spread the flames to neighboring homes, officials said.
The blaze began just before 4 a.m. in the 700 block of Mehorter Boulevard. CBS3 reported that it started in a group home run by a church, but Woodbury City Administrator Michael Theokas said Monday afternoon that he could not confirm that.
Of the seven injured, four were taken to Cooper University Hospital in Camden in critical condition, and three were treated and released from Inspira Medical Center Woodbury, Theokas said.
Two adjacent homes also were damaged. One was vacant, and residents escaped from the other, Theokas said.
Officials were still investigating the cause Monday afternoon. Theokas said the wind "presented a big challenge to our fire department."
