Death of South Jersey woman, 81, deemed 'suspicious'

The death of an 81-year-old Burlington County woman remains under investigation after authorities determined her death was not attributable to natural causes.

Laura Coggins was found dead inside her Cinnaminson home on Monday morning by a family member. Police and detectives from the county prosecutor's office deemed her death "suspicious" but did release further details.

A statement from the prosecutor's office assured local residents that there was no cause for worry.

"(T)he death of Mrs. Coggins is not attributable to an act of random violence nor is any indication that the public is at further risk of violence," the statement said.
