Walkway on Ben Franklin Bridge is open longer

Beginning this morning, pedestrians will have one more hour to use the Ben Franklin Bridge.

The Delaware River Port Authority announced yesterday that walkway hours have been extended by an hour for the summer. The south walkway will be open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. seven days a week. The north walkway is closed for a painting project.

The walkway, also open for bicyclists, offers dramatic views of the waterfront, the skyline and attractions such as Adventure Aquarium, Campbell's Field and the Battleship New Jersey.
