Biker killed, motorist hospitalized in collision

A motorcycle rider was pronounced dead early yesterday after his bike collided with a van in the Northeast, said Officer Jillian Russell of the Public Affairs Unit.

The bike was traveling south on Oakley Street when it collided with a Dodge Caravan traveling east on Levick Street about 1:30 a.m., Russell said. Kevin Adams Jr., 27, of the 600 block of Brill Street, was pronounced dead at the scene by medics.

The driver of the van, whose name was not released, was taken to Frankford Hospital-Torresdale Campus after his vehicle jumped the north curb of Levick and struck a house. Police said he was treated for injuries that were not life-threatening.
