Wegmans recalls bagels, bialys after complaints
Wegmans Food Markets Inc. said yesterday it was recalling all varieties of in-store-made bagels and bialys because the products might contain pieces of a mixer's metal spring, posing a serious choking hazard.
The company, based in Rochester, N.Y., has heard three consumer complaints, said spokeswoman Jo Natale. There have been no reports of injuries or incidents. The recalled bagels and bialys were sold between Aug. 24 and Sept. 9 in Wegmans stores in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and elsewhere.
