CCP begins expansion on Northeast Regional Center
Community College of Philadelphia broke ground yesterday afternoon on a $31 million expansion and redesign of the Northeast Regional Center, 12901 Townsend Rd.
The three-story, 58,000-square-foot facility will be built with environmentally sound technology and construction methods, the school said, and is expected to be completed by 2010.
The college this fall will launch a second construction project on its main campus. That effort has a $56 million budget and will include a new pavilion and renovation of the school's Mint, Bonnell and West Buildings, all on or near 17th and Spring Garden Streets. Work is scheduled to begin in November and be completed by 2011.
