The Archdiocese of Philadelphia will induct six Catholic school graduates into the Archdiocesan Hall of Fame during ceremonies Jan. 30 at 6 p.m. in the Wanamaker Building's Crystal Tea Room.
The archdiocese announced the latest recipients of its Distinguished Graduate Awards yesterday. Honors will be presented to the Rev. Joseph A. Fitzmyer, professor emeritus, Department of Biblical Studies, Catholic University of America; Pennsylvania Speaker of the House Dennis M. O'Brien (R., Phila.); Mary Lou Quinlan, founder and chief executive officer of Just Ask a Woman, a New York-based marketing firm; Ellen Hanway, board member of Drexel Neumann Academy in Chester; and H. Edward Hanway, chairman and chief executive officer, CIGNA Corp. The sixth award will be presented posthumously to Philadelphia Police Sgt. Patrick McDonald, who was fatally shot in the line of duty in North Philadelphia on Sept. 23.
