Chain-reaction crash kills woman in Feltonville

A woman was killed last night in a chain-reaction crash that involved three moving vehicles and three parked cars at Whitaker and Wyoming Avenues in Philadelphia's Feltonville section, police said.

The woman was in the last of the six cars hit in the accident. Police in the Accident Investigation District said the crash took place at about 8 p.m. and the victim was pronounced dead at 8:51 p.m. at Albert Einstein Medical Center.

A man and a woman, hurt separately in other cars, were taken to Temple University Hospital, where they were in stable condition, police said.

There were no arrests made directly in connection with the accident, but police at the scene did arrest a woman for drunken driving as she attempted to drive around the crash site.
