Two charged with drug trafficking in Pennsburg

Two alleged drug traffickers were arrested recently in Montgomery County after authorities confiscated 110 bags of heroin valued at $2,000 in Pennsburg, police said yesterday.

Acting on a tip, detectives staked out the parking lot of the Pennsburg Diner, 321 Pottstown Ave., on Dec. 6, and arrested Robert Pistorius of Sellersville and Joel Fantauzzi of Lehigh County.

Montgomery County District Attorney Risa Vetri Ferman said Pistorius was the buyer and Fantauzzi the supplier. The two were charged with drug and related offenses, and were held at the Montgomery County Correctional Facility after they could not post bail. District Judge Albert J. Augustine set bail for each at $100,000 last week, but later increased it to $500,000 for Fantauzzi, who had fled from officers.

Fantauzzi drove over a concrete parking barrier, then led four Upper Perkiomen police cruisers on a chase at speeds of up to 80 m.p.h. He was stopped only after causing a crash at Park Avenue and Main Street in Quakertown, police said.
