Guilty plea in drug and weapons charges

A Burlington County man pleaded guilty yesterday to drug and weapons charges the state had filed as part of an investigation into the Bloods street gang.

David J. Garmon, 24, of Pemberton Township, pleaded guilty to possession of a firearm as a convicted felon, possession of a firearm while committing a drug offense and possession of marijuana with intent to distribute. Garmon could face 40 years in state prison.

Garmon was charged as part of a broader investigation into the Sex Money Murder branch of the Bloods gang, according to the attorney general's office.

In February, during the investigation, detectives stopped a car in which Garmon was a passenger, and Garmon was arrested on outstanding arrest warrants. He was also carrying a handgun, police said.
