Shootings leave two city men critically wounded

Two Philadelphia men were in critical condition yesterday from gunshot wounds in separate attacks Tuesday.

Police said yesterday that about 5:20 p.m. Tuesday officers responded to the 1800 block of East Venango Street in Kensington, where they found a 20-year-old man who had been shot in the stomach, right thigh and left elbow. He was taken to Temple University Hospital and listed in critical condition, police said.

At 8:40 p.m., a 19-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the chest was found on the sidewalk in the 1500 block of West Grange Street in the Ogontz section. Police said he had been shot during an argument. He was taken to Albert Einstein Medical Center and was reported in critical condition.

The names of the victims were not released. No arrests were reported in either case.
