2 women robbed, raped in W. Phila. home invasion

Detectives from the Special Victims Unit last night were investigating a home invasion in West Philadelphia near University City that resulted in a robbery and two women being sexually assaulted.

The attacks happened after a man forced his way into a residence on the 4400 block of Spruce Street about 7 p.m., police said. A woman was bound, raped and robbed. When the victim's roommate came home later, she was attacked and raped as well.

No other information, including on what was taken, was immediately available last night.
