HARRISBURG - Pennsylvania Republicans yesterday nominated State Rep. David G. Argall to run in the special election to fill the seat of State Sen. James Rhoades, who was killed in an October car crash but was elected posthumously to an eighth term last month.
The election to fill the remainder of the four-year term is scheduled for March 3. Argall, a member of the House since 1985, was selected in a meeting in Pottsville.
The district covers all of Schuylkill County and parts of Berks, Carbon, Lehigh, Monroe and Northampton Counties.
The state Democratic Party is expected to vote on its nominee in about a week.
