Two die in weekend road accidents in Chesco

Two people died on Chester County roads over the weekend, police said.

Kayla Steffy, 18, of Christiana, Pa., died as the result of an accident shortly after noon Sunday on Daleville Road in West Fallowfield Township. According to police, Steffy was a passenger in a 2000 Dodge Ram being driven by Pamela Tatum, 47, of Parkesburg. Police said Steffy, who was not wearing a seat belt, was thrown from the vehicle after Tatum lost control of the truck, which hit a ditch and overturned. Steffy was pronounced dead at Jennersville Regional Hospital.

Around 5:30 a.m. Saturday, an unidentified man lost control of his Isuzu Trooper on the on-ramp to Route 202 northbound from Business Route 30 in Frazer. The SUV rolled over several times and struck a concrete barrier. The man was thrown from the vehicle and was found on the road lying underneath it, police said. Chester County Deputy Coroner Michael Groff pronounced him dead at the scene.
