Man, 73, gravely hurt in Harrowgate hit-run

A 73-year-old man was listed in "extremely critical" condition last night after a hit-run accident at 9:30 p.m in the Harrowgate section of the city, police said.

The man, who was not identified, was hit crossing the 3900 block of M Street near Erie Avenue. He was taken to Temple University Hospital for treatment.

Police believe the man was hit by a Ford Explorer; officers last night were looking for a 1999 to 2001 model of that vehicle in a dark color, possibly burgundy. - Matt Katz
