Victim in Rte. 309 crash was Quakertown woman

A Quakertown woman has been identified as the victim in a fatal collision Tuesday between her car and a tractor-trailer on Route 309 in Hilltown Township, Bucks County. Jeanne Felsted, 68, was pronounced dead at the scene of the 5:45 p.m. accident, Hilltown police said.

Felsted's Saturn sedan was headed north on Route 309 when it was struck on the driver's side by the eastbound tractor-trailer at the intersection with Bergey Road, police said. The truck driver, Barry Thatcher, 60, of Easton, Pa., appeared to have disobeyed signs directing all traffic on Bergey to turn right onto southbound 309, police said.

Township police are consulting with the Bucks County District Attorney's Office to determine whether charges will be filed against Thatcher. The accident closed the northbound lanes of 309 for about three hours Tuesday night.
