Man killed by SEPTA trolley in Upper Darby

A man whose age was not immediately known was struck and killed last night by a Route 101 SEPTA trolley near the Drexeline Shopping Center Station in Upper Darby, according to authorities.

SEPTA spokeswoman Sylvana Hoyos said the cause of the accident, which occurred near the intersection of State Road and Route 1 around 8:30 p.m., remained under investigation late last night.

Shuttle buses were deployed to take passengers between 69th Street Station and Scenic Road while police combed the tracks for evidence. No other details were immediately available.
