N.J. college police officer found shot to death

A nine-year New Jersey college police officer was found dead in her home Saturday night, authorities said.

Maria Parziale, 42, was found with a gunshot wound to her head shortly after 5 p.m. Saturday in her Egg Harbor Township home, Atlantic County prosecutor's spokeswoman Madelaine Vitale said yesterday. Parziale, who worked for the Police Department at the Richard Stockton College of New Jersey, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities had not ruled her death a homicide last night. Autopsy results were expected this morning, Vitale said. - Derrick Nunnally
