A former state worker was sentenced to three years in prison yesterday for filling her own car at state gas stations.

Montrice Wright, 30, of Camden, worked as a transportation aide in the New Jersey Department of Children and Families in Camden. Wright pleaded guilty to official misconduct in December in Superior Court in Gloucester County.

Wright repeatedly used her state-issued fuel card to pump gas for herself and for her friends' cars at state pumps in Berlin, Deptford, West Deptford and Cherry Hill, investigators said.

Wright forfeited her job and has been barred from having another public job in the state, according to the state Attorney General's office.

Six others indicted in June have also pleaded guilty to misusing the state fuel-card system.
