Episcopal Academy says fund-raising goal surpassed

Episcopal Academy announced yesterday that it was closing out its capital campaign after surpassing the fund-raising goal of $90 million.

Episcopal Academy announced yesterday that it was closing out its capital campaign after surpassing the fund-raising goal of $90 million.

Episcopal raised $100.3 million to pay for its relocation to Newtown Square and boost its endowment. A recent $1 million pledge by an anonymous member of the Class of 1940 pushed funds over the $100 million mark, school officials said.

The new 123-acre campus was completed last summer and allowed Episcopal to bring together programs and students from its previous sites in Merion and Devon. The private school enrolls 1,210 students from preschool through 12th grade. - Martha Woodall
