'Suspicious' death of S.W. Phila. boy is probed

Homicide detectives were investigating what officials termed the "suspicious death" of a 6-year-old Southwest Philadelphia boy yesterday afternoon.

The boy was found in the bedroom of an apartment in the 5400 block of Eastwick Terrace with blood covering his face, mouth, and nose. Blood was found on the bed sheets as well, police said. The boy was pronounced dead at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia at 2:18 p.m. As of early last night, an autopsy had not been performed and the manner of death had not been determined. - Troy Graham
