Woman charged in death of toddler son

A Willingboro woman was charged with murder yesterday in the death of her 21-month-old son, Collins Bulluck Jr.

Tia Welles, 23, was being held last night at the Burlington County Jail with bail set at $750,000.

The Burlington County Prosecutor's Office said emergency workers responded Sept. 10 to a report of an unresponsive child at Welles' home on Ridgeview Place. Collins was pronounced dead at Cooper University Hospital the following day.

An autopsy determined that he had died as a result of being beaten, authorities said. - Maya Rao
