Lindenwold woman charged with assault

A 49-year-old Lindenwold woman was charged with aggravated assault late Saturday after allegedly cutting a man with a shard of glass.

Authorities said that while arguing with the man earlier at the Howard Johnson Motel in Gloucester Township, Cynthia Gougon-Berry had kicked in a bathroom door, breaking a mirror.

Police said she assaulted the man with a piece of the broken glass, wounding him in the right hand. Gougon-Berry was also charged with possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, unlawful possession of a weapon, and criminal mischief. - Maya Rao
