Officers were called to 64th and Garman Streets at 10:19 p.m. Friday after getting a report of shots fired and a vehicle accident, Homicide Sgt. Tim Cooney said. A white vehicle had crashed into a parked car. The victim, the vehicle's only occupant, was taken to a hospital and pronounced dead from multiple gunshot wounds at 10:53 p.m., Cooney said. The shots had been fired from outside the vehicle, he said.
No suspects had been identified, and police had no motive for the shooting, Cooney said.
As of Thursday morning, there had been 303 homicides in Philadelphia in 2009. - Dan Hardy
