SugarHouse Casino names general manager

SugarHouse Casino announced yesterday that Wendy Hamilton would be its new general manager, pending approval by the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board.

SugarHouse Casino announced yesterday that Wendy Hamilton would be its new general manager, pending approval by the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board.

Hamilton would replace Bob Sheldon, who stepped down as SugarHouse's president and chief operating officer this year.

Hamilton, a Philadelphia native, had been general manager of PhiladelphiaPark Casino in Bensalem, renamed Parx. Before that, she held positions with Harrah's Entertainment in Atlantic City; Kansas City, Mo.; Metropolis, Ill.; and Memphis.

SugarHouse is expected to open in August on 22 acres on Delaware Avenue in Fishtown and Northern Liberties. - Jennifer Lin
