Delaware Valley Friends picks new head of school

Daniel Kahn, a veteran educator, will become head of Delaware Valley Friends School in Paoli on July 1, the school announced this week.
Kahn, who now heads Tucson (Ariz.) Hebrew Academy, is a former assistant head and interim head of the Windward School in White Plains, N.Y., an independent elementary school for students with language-based learning differences. Delaware Valley, an independent college-prep school for students in sixth through 12th grades, also focuses on students with language-based learning differences.
Kahn takes over for Katherine Schantz, who left Delaware Valley in 2009 to head the Lab School in Washington. Pritchard Garrett, Delaware Valley's dean of students, is serving as the school's interim head this academic year. - Martha Woodall
