Wind damage cuts power to 30,000-plus in region

Powerful winds knocked down tree limbs and power lines in much of the Philadelphia region Saturday night, leaving about 25,000 Peco Energy customers without power, a company spokeswoman said.

Most of the outages were in Montgomery, Bucks, and Chester Counties, Karen Muldoon Geus said. Outages were also reported in Delaware County and Philadelphia. Emergency crews were to work through the night to restore power, Geus said.

In South Jersey, about 5,100 customers were without power, PSE&G spokeswoman Lee Gray said.
