A Bucks County businessman who pleaded guilty to bribing Cherry Hill's chief code inspector in exchange for a $240,000 municipal contract was sentenced Friday to one year and one day in prison.
Russell McLaughlin, 57, the former president of Building Inspection Underwriters Inc., was charged after the inspector, Anthony Saccomanno, secretly recorded him, in cooperation with a federal investigation.
Saccomanno was sentenced to 22 months in prison after pleading guilty to mail fraud. McLaughlin is scheduled to begin serving his sentence Aug. 1 and has requested placement in Federal Corrections Institute-Schuylkill, a medium-security facility in Minersville, Pa., said his attorney, Catherine Recker. - James Osborne
