Gloucester County arson officials were investigating a fierce two-alarm fire that seriously damaged a vacant industrial building Saturday evening in Mantua Township.
No injuries were reported in the blaze at 568 Lambs Rd., near Pitman, fire officials said. Struthers-Dunn Inc. had occupied the building until 1994, when the electrical-relay manufacturer moved to South Carolina. Despite several years of marketing, county redevelopment officials have been unable to find a new occupant.
Fire companies battled for more than two hours to control the fire on the 39-acre property. Fire marshals summoned investigators to the scene. - Andrew Maykuth
