A 31-year-old man who was shot seven times in North Philadelphia Sunday night survived to be hospitalized in stable condition, police said.

The man, whose name was withheld, was outside a house in the 2200 block of Ingersoll Street when he was shot at 8:30 p.m., Officer Jillian Russell, a police spokeswoman, said.

Although bullets struck the man's upper torso, back, face, neck, and a leg, his condition was stable enough after initial treatment at St. Joseph's Hospital for him to be taken to Temple University Hospital for more extensive treatment, Russell said.
