New leader named for Catholic Schools backers

Business Leadership Organized for Catholic Schools (BLOCS) announced Monday that Joseph Garecht has been appointed executive director of the nonprofit organization, which raises funds for Roman Catholic schools in the Philadelphia area.

Garecht has more than a decade of fund-raising experience, including serving as director of development at the Philadelphia Children's Alliance. He replaces Mary Ann Carlisle, who left in February to pursue opportunities in the for-profit sector, BLOCS said. - Martha Woodall
