Five arrested at sites of Flyers celebrations

Still, police made five arrests at the two most prominent gathering spots - Frankford and Cottman Avenues in the Northeast and Broad and Shunk Streets in South Philadelphia.

Three people were arrested on charges of disorderly conduct, a misdemeanor, at Frankford and Cottman, and a 17-year-old was charged with assault on police officers. The teen, who was not identified because of his age, was arrested after throwing bottles at a line of officers, police said.

A fan also was charged with assault on police in South Philadelphia. Officers saw the fan fighting and tried to separate the combatants. Michael Piselli, 23, of the 1600 block of Ritner Street, turned and hit an officer in the face and chest, police said. Two riot police helmets were stolen on the 1500 block of Porter Street in South Philadelphia, but no arrests were made. - Troy Graham
