2d man held in shooting death of Olney bar owner

Police have arrested a second man in the May 2 fatal shooting of an Olney bar owner that was caught on video surveillance. Nicholas Roll, 21, of the 2400 block of Turner Street in North Philadelphia, was charged with murder, criminal conspiracy, robbery, and related offenses in the slaying of John Adams, 47, owner of Johnny's Top Cat at 5006 N. Fifth St. Police say Roll, who was arrested Tuesday, was the shooter. An alleged accomplice, Brent Dixon, 30, was arrested on the same charges May 13. Adams was held up outside his bar after he walked a waitress to her car, police said. A surveillance camera at a nearby store captured one man pointing a gun at Adams, then shooting him twice. Adams died eight days later in the hospital. - Robert Moran
