Rendell names Phila. lawyer to Parking Authority
Gov. Rendell has appointed Andrew K. Stutzman, a partner at the Philadelphia law firm of Stradley, Ronon, Stevens & Young, to the Philadelphia Parking Authority. Stutzman fills the seat vacated June 1 by Michael Cibik. Stutzman was nominated by Senate Republicans, who, as a majority in the Senate, appoint two members to the six-member board. The governor and the majority party in the House each have two picks.

Stutzman is chair of the mortgage and lending litigation practice group at Stradley Ronon. He has a law degree from Penn State's Dickinson School of Law and a bachelor of science in commerce and engineering sciences from Drexel University. The Parking Authority is controlled by city and state Republicans, and Stutzman is a registered Republican. Cibik was a leader among Republicans trying to oust Michael Meehan as head of the Republican City Committee, and was not reappointed. - Jeff Shields
