Two badly hurt, one dead in three shootings

An 18-year-old man was shot and killed early Sunday morning in the 4800 block of Tackawanna Street in the Wissinoming section of Northeast Philadelphia, police said.

An 18-year-old man was shot and killed early Sunday morning in the 4800 block of Tackawanna Street in the Wissinoming section of Northeast Philadelphia, police said.

The man, whose identity was being withheld over the weekend, was shot once in the neck on the street and was pronounced dead at 1:15 a.m. Sunday at Aria Health-Frankford Campus.

Two victims of other Sunday morning shootings were in critical condition. Police said their identities would not be released until Monday. Police responding to a 2:01 a.m. report found a 16-year-old male shot once in the right chest in the 2300 block of Reed Street in South Philadelphia, police said. The victim was in critical condition at the Children's Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.

Answering a 2:29 a.m. call, police found a 30-year-old male shot once in the chest in the 200 block of West Loudon Street, near Rising Sun Avenue, in Feltonville. He was in critical condition at Temple University Hospital. A police spokeswoman also said the identity of a motorcycle rider who was killed would not be released until Monday. The motorcyclist died Saturday evening in a crash with two all-terrain vehicles at 52d and Jefferson Streets in Overbrook. - Walter F. Naedele
