The Delaware County nursing-care facility whose license was revoked after three workers were arrested last month on allegations that they abused a patient has received a provisional license, officials said.

The Department of Public Welfare reached a settlement Thursday with Quadrangle Sunrise Senior Living Center, 3300 Darby Rd., Haverford. The facility remained operating pending the appeal of its license status, but new admissions were prohibited.

The agreement requires Quadrangle to implement specific provisions beyond the general regulations for personal-care homes, said Michael Race, Department of Public Welfare spokesman. The agreement includes hiring an outside agency to monitor Quadrangle's compliance, designating an overnight manager for the dementia care unit, improving staff training and hiring practices, and adding a full-time administrator with experience in human services.

A standard license is valid for a year. A provisional license can be pulled at any time, Race said. - Mari A. Schaefer
