The driver of an all-terrain vehicle that crashed into a pickup truck about 3:30 p.m. Sunday at Second Street and Champlost Avenue in Olney was hospitalized in critical condition, police said.

The occupants of the pickup, a man and wife, complained of pain and appeared to be suffering from minor injuries.

Police could not immediately provide the age of the ATV driver or the circumstances of the crash, which remains under investigation.

ATVs, which are not legal on city streets, have been a source of headaches for police and neighborhood groups for years. The vehicles are popular in many areas of the city, particularly among young men. - Troy Graham
