Apartment fire in Wissinoming leaves man dead

A 53-year-old man was killed Tuesday when a fire tore through a second-floor apartment on Comly Street near Tacony Street in Wissinoming.

Police said the fire started about 4:20 p.m. Fire officials had not determined the cause of the blaze Tuesday night.

The man, who was not identified, was pronounced dead at the scene at 4:40 p.m., police said. - Staff report
