Delaware man gets 14 years in fatal stabbing

WILMINGTON - A 53-year-old man has been sentenced to 14 years in prison for the fatal stabbing of a fellow resident at a recovery group home.

James Kalil pleaded guilty in June to manslaughter in the death of Scott A. Brooks, 46, on Feb. 3, 2010.

Prosecutors said Kalil and Brooks were alone in the Oxford House, an addiction recovery group home in Wilmington. The two were drinking liquor when they got into an altercation that led to the stabbing, the Wilmington News Journal reported. - AP
